I took this photo of one of the many beautiful Luna moths that were attracted to our outdoor light at the farmhouse. These moths are stunning! They are very large some of them about four inches. They glide through the air like paper airplanes. The muted green color is so pretty.

I now realize that the prints that I produce and like need to have the entire space filled with imagery. It can be lots of plants, texture shapes, or lines. I added lots of line, shapes and texture to my plate behind the moth.

As I began to carve I added more shapes, lines and texture.

I was only going to use one color on this plate because the background is so busy. Black ink on white rice paper.
Copper ink on natural rice paper.
