Traces of Flow

Traces of Flow is a fiber-based exploration of memory, transformation, and the enduring presence of what came before. Created from fragments of an earlier work, Ebb and Flow, the piece reflects the natural processes of erosion, renewal, and the continuous reshaping of form.

Through deconstruction and reassembly, familiar materials take on new relationships. Layers of crocheted, knitted, and manipulated fibers create an organic landscape reminiscent of underwater formations, while elongated strands suggest the movement of water and the traces it leaves behind. A muted palette of sea greens, soft blues, and grays reinforces the connection to the shifting rhythms of the natural world.

By giving new life to fragments of an existing work, Traces of Flow considers how change does not erase the past but carries elements of it forward. The piece becomes a reflection on continuity and impermanence, revealing how something once whole can evolve into a new form while retaining the memory of its origins.
