Ebb and Flow

Ebb and Flow is a fiber-based reflection on the tidal pools of my childhood — small, glistening worlds where my sisters and I would visit, search, and sit in wonder. Crafted from recycled fabric, lace, and yarn, this piece weaves together both material and memory. The textures echo the tangled seaweed, delicate shells, and cool saltwater, while the soft palette and layered stitches recall the quiet joy of discovery along the rocky shore.

By using reclaimed textiles, I aim to honor the past — not just environmentally, but emotionally. Each thread is a gesture of nostalgia and gratitude for those days at the edge of the sea, where time slowed, and life shimmered just below the surface.
Ebb and Flow is both a tactile tribute to nature and a reflection on life’s rhythms—rising and falling, waxing and waning, coming and going. Like the tides, it moves through cycles of decline and return, reminding us that periods of loss and growth, struggle and renewal, are inseparable. It signifies a continuous motion from ebb to flow and back again, echoing the natural cadence of change.
