It's been a while since I posted because I was busy teaching art all summer. Bliss.
I'm working on a new series which speaks to the painter in me. I've figured out what was not working for me with some of the prints, they are too neat. I am not a color in the line kind of artist.
This new series is titled Life. I am exploring what life looks like from all perspectives.
Each piece begins as a lino-cut. I add paint, gesso, paper and pastels and then sand the surface to reveal what lies beneath. The texture is imperfect and purposely rough and smooth in some place.
