These watercolor paintings of the Scottish Highlands are studies in color glazing. I am creating layers of washes reflecting luminous areas of movement. This wet-on-wet technique allows the paint to flow and move making blooms of light and color. The sky on this day was moody and dark, the clouds above the moors seemed to fly across the sky. The grasses danced in the wind looking more like water than earth.
